Prestons Golf Driving Range is owned by John Wraith. John turned pro in 1968, becoming the youngest assistant in The British Professional Golfers Association, and became a fully qualified golf professional in October 1970.

John has for most of his golfing life lived in the local area, and played on The European Tour from 1972 to 1980. From 1987 to 2001 John worked in Europe heading the academies for some prestigious golf clubs.

Teaching Technique

John has worked for many years in the German spoken market, and through this he has become a very technical teacher. This technique contains quite a lot of structure and needs time to be correctly explained.

Johns teaching would be classed by many golfers to be "mechanical". He will spend time during the lesson explaining positions and angles so that the customer leaves the lesson armed with the right information on producing the perfect shot.

John Thinks

Golf is a sport for all ages, from Kids as young as 4 years old to Ladies and Men over 70. Everyone can play golf, just go on and enjoy yourself.
